FastDesign software guides the user through the scanning process. The IOS FastDesign Clinical system requires a minimum number of scans (3-5 scans per quadrant) to capture the patient’s anatomy. An occlusal, lingual and buccal scan is taken of both the preparation and opposing jaws. Then a single scan with the jaws in occlusion is taken from the buccal to establish the proper occlusion relationship between the preparation jaw and the opposing jaw. Additionally, interproximal scans can be added, if needed, to capture the contact areas of neighboring teeth.
